The article raises the problem of humanization of correction in the Russian penitentiary system; outlines the positive tendencies of its solution: implementing specialized technologies of individual-group work with suspects, accused and convicts. The authors demonstrate opportunities of using art-therapy to tackle the task of correcting the life of a law-breaker, explain an art-autobiography method and suggest the programme for working with the autobiography using art-therapy.
