The absolute age of the Low Volga Neolithic is important for cultures of adjacent regions. The researches prove the penetration of steppe population into the northern territories. In the last quarter of the XX century owing to the radiocarbon method, the chronological limits of the Low Volga Neolithic were defined as 5 - 4 000 BC. Recently 45 dates on ceramics were obtained which let us correct the absolute age of the antiquities of the Late Stone Age in this region. The age of the cultures in different parts of the Low Volga is not the same and fits into the period from 6 000 to the beginning of 4 000 BC.
