Corruption as one of the most important threats to the Brazilian political system: experience and features of counteraction

The authors examine the current situation in Brazil in the field of anti-corruption, where, despite the adoption of various measures, the level of corruption has not decreased. Deep corruption processes also affect the political sphere. The subject of the study was the political corruption scandals of Brazil that occurred in the context of the new millennium. The purpose of the study was to analyze the characteristics of political corruption in Brazil. The methodological basis of the study was the universal dialectical method, which involves the study of phenomena and processes in their development and interdependence. Results of the work: the authors came to the conclusion that in Brazil, corruption in the state apparatus continues to be an acute problem, since almost the majority of the Brazilian political elite, to one degree or another, has become embroiled in corruption scandals. For several decades now, various regulatory services have been created in the country, but the fight against corruption has not become much more effective and efficient. The author’s position on the fight against political corruption is novel. It lies in the fact that to effectively prevent this phenomenon, an integrated approach is needed, which requires the participation of all subjects of this process. The practical orientation of the study is expressed in the fact that the conclusions expressed in it can be applied in the process of preparing policy documents related to combating corruption in the Russian Federation. The results of the study can be used in the system of advanced training for law enforcement officers.
