Indirect speech act in Chinese and Russian university students' daily communication

This paper explains the main issues of indirect speech acts theory, setting forth the difference between the speech phenomena of Chinese university students and that of Russian university students in daily communication. Special attention is drawn to analyzing conventional and non-conventional indirect speech acts pertinent to the intercultural communication.
