A brief analysis of the application of realism and romanticism in Russian literature of the late XVIII – early XIX centuries

The late 18th and early 19th centuries marked an important stage in the development of Russian literature, signifying the transition from classicism to a diversity of literary movements. During this period, realism and romanticism, having been adopted and further developed within the Russian cultural milieu, exerted a profound influence on the ideological content and artistic expressiveness of Russian literature. further, it investigates the practical application of realism and romanticism, including both the concentrated manifestation of individual stylistic tendencies and their synthesis within a single work; using the works of Karamzin, Zhukovsky, Pushkin, and other prominent authors as examples, it analyzes the interaction between realism and romanticism in the period under review and their role in the development of subsequent Russian literature.
