The article examines the state and prospects of lending to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. In modern conditions, SMEs play a key role in the development of the regional economy, and the state is actively working to create conditions for their sustainable growth. Particular attention is paid to the interaction of small and medium businesses with commercial banks, the analysis of existing lending mechanisms and the identification of key problems in this area. The author concludes that a systematic approach to organizing lending, expanding the range of credit products taking into account the needs of borrowers, as well as continuing research in the field of financial support for SMEs to stimulate their further development are necessary.
