Flint tools from layer 32 of lower paleolithic Mukhkai I camp

The paper describes results of the study related to a flint assemblage inLayer 32 of Lower Paleolithic Mukhkai I camp located in the Akusha district, Republicof Dagestan, in close proximity to flint outcrops. Judging by the typology of stone tools,the camp may be referred to the Oldovan culture and dated to the time range not older than2-1,5 million years ago. The paleomagnetic dating of Layer 32 is within the chronologicalrange of 2-1 million years ago. The site represents a complete cycle of flint knappingand implement production, which is extremely rare at the sites dating to the LowerPaleolithic
