Religious processions as an element of spiritual service St. Joseph-Volotsky Monastery in the late 19th and early 20th centuries

The work was carried out on the basis of the preserved materials of the foundation 1192 «Iosifov Volokolamsk (Volotsky) Monastery, Volokolamsk district of Moscow province» of the RGADA, other sources and thematic literature. Along with church-wide regulations on holding festive processions, processions on special occasions and historical events, a significant number of processions were held related to local conditions and requests from residents of surrounding settlements. Conducting religious processions is an important component of spiritual enlightenment and education of the population.
