Criminalization of rehabilitation of fascism: criminal and legal aspect

In 2014, the Russian Federation criminalized actions that contributed to the rehabilitation of Nazism. In turn, actions in the field of rehabilitation of fascism are not criminally punishable, despite the fact that both ideologies are equivalent in the degree of social danger, and currently, there is a growth in the ideas of open approval of extreme forms of fascism and Nazism, the elevation of Nazi criminals into heroes, as well as the spread of these ideologies. Taking into account the law enforcement practice, the author examines criminal and legal measures to counter fascism and the prospects for criminalizing the rehabilitation of fascism. In this regard, the article analyzes the international assessment of fascism, positions of scientists and domestic regulations aimed at preventing the spread of Nazism and fascism. As a result, the need to develop practical criminal and legal measures to counter the spread of the ideology of fascism in modern society is stated.
