The article examines the problem of the criminal subculture among minors and its relationship with the crime rate. A meaningful analysis of the concept of criminal subculture is carried out. An attempt has been made to characterize this phenomenon. The following can be distinguished as distinctive features: orientation towards adolescents, distortion of morality, special hierarchy, stratification, replacement of generally accepted morality, a system of rituals aimed at structuring and organizing the activities of a social group, secrecy of communication of members, provided with a special jargon and behavior model. The criminal subculture is a fruitful environment for the development of crime in general and juvenile delinquency in particular.
