Criminological characterization of a cybercriminal identity in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan

Introduction. For fighting cybercrime in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, information about the perpetrator of cybercrime is of great importance, which makes it possible to identify patterns of criminal behaviour in order to prevent crime. The aim is to characterize the cybercriminal’s features that determine his or her criminal behavior, allowing, on this basis, to develop science-based recommendations for the prevention of cybercrime. Materials, Results and Discussion. The main elements that make up the criminological characteristics of cybercriminal personality in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan are analyzed. Significant socio-demographic, moral-psychological qualities, qualities related to criminal law and personal qualities of the modern cybercriminal in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan are revealed. A portrait of a cybercriminal is compiled, a number of proposals for the prevention of cybercrime in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan being developed.
