Criminological concept of Raoul de la Grasserie’s doctrine of victim: a historical and criminological study

The aim of the work is to evaluate the results of criminological research of the famous French criminologist Raoul de la Grasserie in the formation of the doctrine of the victim of criminal behavior. The methodological basis of the conducted research is dialectical materialism and general-scientifi c and private-scientifi c methods of cognition based on it, used in criminological theory. Results of the study. The paper presents the criminological concept of protection of the rights of crime victims of the French criminologist Raoul de la Grasserie. The concept of abcrime victim in the interpretation of this author is described, the classifi cation of crime victims into different homogeneous groups proposed by him is evaluated, the main rights of abcrime victim are established: the right to revenge against the criminal and the right to fair material compensation for the harm caused. In order to realize the rights of crime victims to compensation for the harm caused, Raúl de la Grasserie proposed the creation of abstate fund to help victims of crime through fi nes levied on criminals and voluntary fi nancial donations. As abresult of this approach, the author of the article came to the conclusion that Raoul de la Grasserie created abholistic unique criminological theory of the doctrine of the victim of criminal behavior.
