Criminological basics of investigative activity

Introduction: the article analyzes the interdisciplinary connections of the theory of operational investigative activity and criminology. The purpose of the work is to determine the possibilities of crime prevention based on knowledge of criminology and operational investigative activities. Materials and Methods: works in the field of criminology and operational investigative activities, as well as departmental documents: reports, certificates, etc. Using the method of comparative analysis in conjunction with general scientific methods allowed us to establish common features and identify common tasks of criminology and operational investigative activities, as well as to substantiate the position that the conclusions of interdisciplinary research should enrich the theory and practice of crime prevention. Results: in the course of the study, it was found that operational investigative activities are based on conceptual criminological theories. The results of the study make it possible to expand knowledge in the field of crime prevention, to ensure the integration of theoretical knowledge into practical activities.
