In this article, the author explores the criminological features of juvenile delinquency, paying attention to the primary problems that have become, with a high degree of probability, the reasons for illegal behavior. The author, on the basis of Russian and foreign studies, highlights such criminological characteristics of juvenile delinquency as: the growth of predominantly group crimes (the tendency to unite in destructive groups, including extremist organizations); the presence of mental illness (mental anomalies); the use of narcotic and psychoactive substances. Each of the correlates is considered from the standpoint of the relationship between the criminal manifestation and the risk factor. The author also considers the most promising ways to solve problematic issues.
