The crime rate in the Chelyabinsk region over the past decade has remained quite high, in comparison with the average Russian indicators. To increase the effectiveness of measures to combat crime, it is necessary to constantly study this phenomenon: the main characteristics, origins, types, forms of manifestation, trends, features. The effectiveness of control measures is determined by their effectiveness, which largely depends on the degree of influence on certain groups of the population in order to prevent illegal actions. Criminological analysis of crime makes it possible to investigate the main patterns of crime development, the causes and conditions of its occurrence, which allows choosing appropriate measures for the prevention and prevention of offenses. In this study, the main indicators characterizing the level, structure and dynamics of crime in our region are considered, a correlation and regression analysis of criminogenic determinants of crime is carried out, as well as a correlation analysis of the relationship between structural indicators of crime and statistical results of law enforcement. The study revealed a lower elasticity of crime rates in the region in comparison with all-Russian indicators. The calculations of the coefficients of criminogenic infestation by age groups showed that the greatest criminal activity is observed in the group of 18-29-year-old residents of the region. The analysis of the structure of crime in the region revealed a tendency to increase the public danger of crime during the period under review. At the same time, the results obtained showed the focus of law enforcement activities on the suppression of serious and especially serious crimes.
