Criteria for developing an online foreign language course for distance learning students

The article considers the criteria for developing an online foreign language course intended for students who receive higher education remotely. Based on the analysis of current legislation, the essence of distance education for students of distance learning is determined. The features of a professional foreign language are revealed. The article describes the content, forms and methods implemented in the practice of online learning. The article presents research data on the use of online English courses at the Financial University under the government of the Russian Federation. Based on the results of the study, the advantages and difficulties of teaching a foreign language online are determined, and the criteria that must be taken into account when creating online foreign language courses are formulated.
