The paper presents the impact of the application of the diversification strategy to estimate the economic downturn in 1998, 2008 and 2014 and the possibility of its use as a tool to reduce the uncertainty of the external environment. We consider the ability to adapt the building enterprise in the conditions of economic volatility and enhancing the productive capacity in the current conditions.
