The article focuses on the role of ideology in the contemporary society, including the Russian one, by studying and criticizing the deideologization conceptions. The author shows that these theories root in the negative attitude to this phenomenon, which dates back to the works of K. Marx and F. Engels. The author deals with the conceptions of D. Bell, R. Aron, S. Lipset and F. Fukuyama.
