Criminal act of forgery and abuses of credit cards in Republic of Serbia and the Western Balkans countries

Due to the enormous technical and technological progress we have been faced for over the past twenty years, there is also an increasing use and application of various cashless payments in the payment system, which is, among the other things, realized by the usage of payment cards. Like every novelty accompanying the modern society, payment cards have also attracted a great attention in recent times and they have greatly been used when performing various financial transactions. Of course, along with the increased application of payment cards and the use of electronic banking services on the one hand, we have a huge abuse of them for criminal purposes, on the other hand. Accordingly, in this paper, the author will analyze the forgery and abuse of credit cards, both in domestic legislation and the legislation of the Western Balkans Countries.
