Crisis as cultural reality and transformation of identity

This article investigates the effects of global challenges on cultural process and intercultural integration. The risks and conflicts in intercultural relations grow with increased pressure on culture and which emerged out of global transformation. The article argues the prevailing statement that crisis is only alien territory and hostile inroad for culture. It proves that crisis has also great potential for creative renovation and society transformation. Crisis is a system phenomenon, which is necessary for social system development. At a personal level crisis is shown as crisis of identity, which is determined by social and cultural factors. Crisis of identity is considered in post-nonclassical approach as social discourse which is a necessary precondition of finding of a new identity for a person which ensures personal, cultural and social development.
