From the perspective of a sociological analysis of the reproductive mechanisms of entering the profession, the paper discusses the constructive and destructive consequences of the formation of professional dynasties in the medical field. A theoretical understanding of the essence of the category “medical dynasty” is carried out, indicators are identified that characterize the professional dynasties of doctors in modern society. It was determined that professional dynasty in the medical field has a dual character, is subject to socio-economic and professional-status transformations, which leads to a crisis in the reproduction of professional dynasties of doctors. The latter can act as a channel not only for succession, but also for the monopolization of professional status positions in the field of healthcare through the promotion of family and family clans, which exposes the destructive potential of professional succession and makes work even more relevant.
