Cross-culturalness of high professional education

The paper is devoted to the complex examination of the phenomenon of cross-culturalness in contemporary Russian education. This phenomenon is not a fashion statement, but a necessity of getting to learn to cooperate in any sphere with representatives of other cultures under conditions of globalizing society taking into account the requirements and principles of the Bologna Agreement. In the paper various scientific approaches to examining cross-culturalness are analyzed, the researcher considers the concepts of polyculturalness, cross-culturalness, multiculturalism, poly cultural education, cross-cultural education proceeding from the thesis that cross-culturalness is an important component of professionalism. In conclusion the author places emphasis on the necessity to build cross-cultural education as the pedagogical system enabling, at the level of high education, to train specialists capable of considering cultural peculiarities against a broad sociocultural background and analyzing local cultural situation.
