Major sports events as the factor of infrastructure development

The article discusses some results of the World Cup -2018. The main indicators of attendance of the championship matches, the number of mention of stadiums in social media, the tourist flow to the cities of the 2018 world Cup are highlighted. The total influence of the world championship on three regions of the South (Volgograd and Rostov regions, as well as Krasnodar region) is considered. The main directions of infrastructure development in the Volgograd region in connection with the 2018 world Cup are described.
