The author analyzes the legal status of an arbitration manager in the Russian Federation. Considers scientific points of view concerning this issue, including in historical retrospect. Shows the reasons for the inconsistency of judicial practice related to the status of an arbitration manager. Substantiates the concept of the legal status of an arbitration manager as an arbitration assessor, which can resolve some problematic issues both in theory and in law enforcement practice.
