The article deals with the position of the Kuban advocacy during the Great Patriotic War. There are showed the reasons why many Kuban advocates were compelled to stay within the occupied territory. For that time some of them survived by means of private practice. Others were hiding at their relatives homes. And some advocates fell victims to the fascist terror. There were also a few of them who served to the invaders. The presidium of the regional college of advocates was evacuated to Sochi where the Germans didn't come during their advance on the Caucasus. Fortunately the occupants hadn't been in the Kuban for long time although they had enough time to show their inhumanity. In February 1943 Krasnodar was liberated and recovery of fully functional college of lawyers began. It is showed how the advocate cadres were being formed, which requirements demanded, and the educational level of the Kuban advocates during the wartime. The attention is given to the problem of the organization of the legal consultations' activities during the first years after the German occupation. It is showed the work of the presidium of the regional college of advocates on the effective governance of the advocates' activities. The paper gives a fact of participation of experienced advocates in demonstrative court process against the betrayers of nation in July 1943 and its results. The author shows the political vigilance appropriate for the Soviet totalitarian system of that time which could victimize any advocate without the slightest malicious intent.
