The cult of the moon in the religious beliefs of Mordovian nation

Considering folklore and ethnographic sources the articles studies the worship to the moon which existed in ancient times among the Mordovians. For the first time it reconstructs religious and philosophical foundations of this worship. For academic purposes the article introduces new facts about the ethnic culture of the nation.
