The issue related to the study of interethnic conflicts is quite relevant in the framework of sociological thought. This is due to the fact that today conflicts of various kinds, constantly arising throughout the world, shake various spheres of public life and change them, turning them into one of the most serious threats to the territorial integrity of the state. The main role in the disorganization of the structure of society and the formation of trouble spotsis played by the difference in understanding the moral and value norms of the young generation. It is in the youth environment that the most acute conflictogenic character is assigned to ethnic conflict. This is due to the innovative potential of this group of people, which has a significant impact on the scope of sociocultural differentiation. In this article, the authors substantiate the need to increase attention to the study of ethnic conflicts in the youth environment, the causes of their occurrence and resolution technologies. Based on the analysis of the results of a number of sociological studies conducted in 2012-2018 by the FOM, the All-Russian Central Executive Committee and the Levada Center, the culture of conflict interaction among youth is revealed. Interethnic conflicts are the object of research, where, in turn, the subject is the characteristics of interethnic conflicts in the youth environment. At the end of the work, the authors conclude that over time, the nature of the causes, the technologies for resolving interethnic conflicts, being influenced by public consciousness and the correct state policy, tend to change to more constructive ones, and thereby affect the dynamics of the level of conflict existing in society.
