The article presents the results of understanding of the ontological status of a culture of corporate activities in the theory of socio-cultural activities. On the material of scientific, educational and methodical researches of domestic authors who published since 1965 by December 2012, are determined and analyzed the reasons for the decline of interest in the problem of formation of cultural leisure of the members of the corporate community in the post-Soviet stage in the history of Russia; among the main reasons the author calls the lack of interest of Russian employers (including the state as the largest employer) in the development of human capital. In addition, the author also notes the lack of uniformity of interpretation of the generic concept of «culture of leisure», which naturally led to confusion, and in the notion of species, among which is the category «culture of corporate leisure».
