Cultural policy of the Republic of Abkhazia as a tool for the preservation of historical and cultural heritage

The article provides an analysis of the current cultural policy of the Republic of Abkhazia and identifies promising directions for its development. The subject of the research is the state policy as a tool for preserving the unique historical and cultural heritage of the republic. The relevance of the chosen topic is determined by the insufficient coverage of issues in domestic science, as well as the importance of preserving the national identity of small-numbered people. For the first time the promising directions for the development of cultural policy of the republic in the field of preservation of the national traditions and values оf the Abkhaz people are systematized. The methodological basis of the study was the cultural approach, which allows to consider diverse social phenomena as a specific type of human spiritual activity and involves their analysis through the prism of system-forming cultural concepts such as norms and values, traditions and interests, ways of life and lifestyle. A set of methods were used to achieve this goal, including systematic and comparative methods, content analysis and SWOT analysis. The regulatory framework of the current policy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the field of cultural heritage was analyzed; the tools for the implementation of cultural policy are indicated, strategic tasks and prospects for their implementation in the field of preservation of historical and cultural heritage were determined.
