The article examines the place of the phenomenon of “cancel culture” in the dynamics of cultural and civilizational interactions. The relevance of this study stems from the need to define the place of “cancel culture” as a form of cultural and civilizational interactions in cultural dynamics. The research methodology is driven by the need to apply a civilizational approach to understanding the transformation of “cancel culture” from a technology of social manipulation within one culture to its emergence as an international tool for influencing other civilizational and cultural codes. The paper analyzes key civilizational concepts from N.Ya. Danilevsky to S. Huntington. The author emphasizes that the contemporary form of “cancel culture” is methodologically integrated into the concept of a “rift between civilizations”, proving to be the antithesis of dialogue between cultures and representing a regulatory mechanism of culture that rejects communication. The civilizational approach allows us not to limit the understanding of “cancel culture” as a technology at the intracultural level, but to define it as a destructive form of cultural dynamics, brought to the international level to protect one’s own and neutralize others’ value systems.
