The cultural and aesthetic dimension of a smart city

The analysis of new social urban practices, characteristic of the last decades of urbanization and related to the acquisition of original aesthetic experience, shows that they attract city dwellers with the opportunity to experience and generate a high level of emotional involvement. In this environment, the aesthetic in its meaning of harmonized human sensuality can perform the functions of adaptation in the hybrid techno-social space of the city. Reflection of the aesthetic experience of modern man finds its expression in the concepts of the aesthetics of the event, the economy of impressions, aesthetically and emotionally charged environment. Cultural elements, formalized in new types of social practices (symbols, traditions, values), cause emotional reactions and become a stimulus for social action. The concept of cathexis, which expresses the orientation of mental energy towards an object, contributes to the formation of a holistic perception of the world on a deep intuitive level, which manifests the essence of aesthetic feelings. In conditions of increasing uncertainty, his positive emotionality, the ability to concentrate meanings in the creation of cultural phenomena creates stable foundations for the formation of a socio-cultural identity, contributes to the preservation of the value of a subjective and free worldview.
