This paper tells about the unselfish cultural and educational activity of English missionaries in Transbaikalia. For over forty years they had been translating liturgical books into the Buryat language and disseminated them among the locals. Having opened a school for the poor, alongside the universal human values, they cultivated moral behavior skills in the population, providing people with incentives to succeed in scientific and public life.
