The cultural heritage of Russia: its pedagogical and educative potential (on the example of a regional university)

The article delves into the pedagogical and educative potential of cultural heritage sites, studying the significance and role of these sites in shaping the worldview of individuals, forming their identity, determining their values and life trajectories. The article also presents the main theoretical positions for understanding the essence of the concept of "cultural heritage", supported by the opinions of scholars, as well as an analysis of the legislative framework formed in Russia and the world for the protection and preservation of the world cultural heritage sites. The research is based on the experience of organizing a museum object dedicated to the life and work of one of the leading professors of the Dorzhi Banzarov Buryat State University, Yefrem Yegorovich Tarmakhanov. The author describes the main sites of the museum exposition and concludes that this historical and cultural object, representing an undoubtedly worthy example of a life dedicated to people, fully performs an important educational, cultural, and civic function.
