Cultural and historical aspects of the family and marriage institute

The article analyzes the main socio-cultural aspects of matrimony and parenthood in the traditional and modern context by the example of modernization of this institution in Russia. It is shown that the evolutionary processes in the formation of the institution of the family are in the field of social and legislative guarantees based on the acceptance and understanding by the state of the national traditions of the peoples inhabiting it.
