Numerous books devoted to the Great Patriotic War and associated historical events are released on the eightieth anniversary of the Soviet people’s triumph over fascism. The phenomenon of war is examined in this article as a cultural phenomenon, which is a collection of the values, motives, and preconceptions of the peoples that fought, as well as cultural practices that were unified under the banner of a shared cultural code of the peoples who fought for their homeland. According to the author’s findings, violent international conflicts like the world war serve as a unifying factor in the creation of new “symbols of victory” that are either intentionally or unintentionally created by the populace to defend a shared historical space. The cultural code of war of a multinational people has its own peculiarity - war eliminates ethnic differences and borders and forms a common cultural space as a monolith, excluding ethnospecific contradictions and confrontations with each other. This publication is devoted to the specifics of the formation of the components of the common cultural code of the war of the peoples of the USSR in the formation of the common victory code.
