Cultural tourism as a factor of education development in Tula oblast

The purpose of this study is to analyze the possibilities of introducing cultural tourism elements to the academic process of secondary education and secondary vocational education institutions in Tula Oblast. The paper shows the specific role of cultural tourism during the regional education development. Tourism and excursions can facilitate mastering the courses in History of Russia, Literature, Fundamentals of Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics, Humanities (Global Art Culture), Geography, Nature Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physical Education, and Social Studies. The research reveals the sample tourist attractions that can become a basis for grasping the abovementioned subjects in Tula Oblast. The paper identifies a number of factors that affect the introduction of cultural tourism to the education system of Tula region. The study reveals that its implementation in the regional education requires the particular legal framework and institutionalization of tourist programs in school and college curricula in Tula Oblast.
