The article, based on an analysis of archival materials, information, Caucasian studies, Russian and Western European authors XVIII-XIX centuries. Kumyk considered fiefs in the Caucasian policy of Russia in the context of anti-Iranian revolts 1707-1721; characterized international position Kumyk possessions, defines the political situation in the region, where all the time competed for influence in the province of the Ottoman Empire and Tsarist Russia; It indicates the growth of pro-Russian orientation Kumyk princes in a collapse of the Safavid state and the aggressive ambitions of ports.
