Kurds deserve a state

The article is devoted to the current problem associated with ignoring the right of the Kurdish people to statehood in their historical homeland. Despite the fact that the Kurds are one of the most numerous peoples in the world and live on their land, to this day they remain a people without a state. The countries of the region that annexed Kurdistan categorically do not want to resolve the Kurdish issue by political means, which forces the Kurds to armed struggle. The author examines this problem through the prism of generally recognized norms and principles of international law, as well as international mechanisms for the protection of human rights. From the author's point of view, the world community needs to develop a mechanism for a peaceful settlement of the Kurdish issue and the formation of an independent Kurdish state that could guarantee their rights and represent them in interstate relations.
