Smoking of teenagers and their genetic relatives as the risk factor of cardiovascular diseases development at a young age (family aspects)

The clinical group was composed in result of the clinical examination of 163 teenagers at the age of 13-17 from 150 families. The information about their state of health was taken from the patients' cards. The information about smoking was gathered using questionnaires. According to the results, there were only 6% of practically healthy children. The most often symptoms were: undifferentiated dysplasia of connecting tissue and its features, vegetative dystonia, chronic diseases of ENT-organs, endocrinopathy among 15-17 y.o. girls. The study showed that teenager smoked in 27.6% of cases, their mothers - in 38.8%, fathers - in 72.2%. Familial history of cardio-vascular diseases were positive in 74% of cases. Active and passive smoking in the early age leads to the endothelium dysfunction and incipient development of arterial hypertension. Passive smoking of mothers influences as a risk factor cvardio-vascular disease development in sons, and fathers smoking influences diastolic arterial pressure of his child.
