The author of the present paper focuses his attention on the fate of the three contemporary writers – J.M.Coetzee, S.Rushdie, O.Pamuk. The article also discusses the problem of conflicts between the famous writers and the power, when men of letters disclose the unpleasant historical truth for the modern governments of their countries.
