Qualification of guides of the People's Republic of China as a reflection of cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation in the XXI century

Tourism is currently one of the priority areas of Sino-Russian cooperation. Popular destinations for both People’s Republic of China and Russian citizens are: business tourism, historical and cultural tourism, and educational tourism. The knowledge of Russian by Chinese guides is of particular importance in the travel industry. The quality of excursion services, sustained interest in Russia as a tourist destination for the People’s Republic of China citizens, and the effectiveness of the tourism industry for both countries depend on this factor. The article raises the problem of training Chinese guides with knowledge of the Russian language, history and culture of the peoples inhabiting the Russian Federation. The solution to the problem of high-quality tourist support for citizens of both the PRC and the Russian Federation is seen in compliance with the requirements for the qualification of guides: a proper level of proficiency in the language of the host country, a broad outlook and resourcefulness. Professional development of guides is an important task, on the solution of which depends the quality of intercultural interaction between the two nations, the preservation of national cultural values, mutual respect for customs and traditions.
