The article is devoted to the problem of assessing the level of formation of general competencies based on the results of passing a qualification exam in a professional module. The article reveals the features of the structure of the educational process in educational institutions of secondary vocational education, which is based on modular technology. Each professional module includes interdisciplinary courses, educational and work practice, and a qualifying exam. The authors formulate the main characteristics of the process of conducting a qualification exam in a professional module as a form of attestation. This exam allows assessing the level of formation of not only professional, but also general competencies in the process of studying a professional module. In the course of the study, problems were identified related to the lack of uniform requirements for conducting and evaluating the module qualification exam, and solutions were proposed. The topic considered in this article is relevant in modern conditions, since the system of secondary vocational education is in the process of continuous reform, taking into account the requirements of the labor market, the demands of employers and the state. Colleges and technical schools are faced with the task of forming a specialist who is competent both in the professional and social spheres, who is competitive in the tough conditions of the labor market, who is creative and mobile in finding solutions to problems, who is physically healthy and has the qualities of a patriotic citizen, who has equally highly developed general and professional competencies.
