The aim of this study is to analyze the educational and developmental potential of a quest tour as a means of engaging youth with the cultural heritage of the historical center (UNESCO zone) of Yaroslavl, which boasts 140 preserved architectural monuments representing individual landmarks as well as architectural ensembles from various historical epochs. This creates favorable conditions for introducing Yaroslavl’s youth to the city’s cultural and historical heritage. Therefore, the selection of effective methods for working with youth in this direction, such as urban quests, is highly relevant. Analyzing various classifications of this method in the modern educational space and based on the research objectives, the authors perceive the quest as an interactive tour involving creative tasks aimed at studying the city's historical and architectural landmarks and fostering team interaction among participants. The article presents the results of the authors’ research into the practice of using quest tours, employing methods such as observation, surveys, and interviews with students and high school students.
