Kyren datsan: archival evidence history of the temple construction

The article, based on new archival sources introduced into scientific circulation, examines the history of formation, construction and development of Kyren datsan, one of the most remote in ethnic Buryatia. The history of the construction of both the main cathedral temple and the auxiliary premises of the monastery complex is revealed. The nature of the history of the monastery's development and the peculiarities of the design of its cult components were influenced by the territorial remoteness and the specificity of Buddhist penetration into a single ethnic segment. The above authentic documents, testimonies and information left by the outstanding orientalist A. M. Pozdneyev allow to shed light on the history of construction, completing and monastic life of the investigated temple.
