The creators of “Lacerba” magazine strove to develop an original philosophy of literature, through the prism of which they offer to understand and conceptualize not only other forms of art, but also the world as a whole. The creator, in their understanding, becomes the measure of all values due to paradoxical thinking and rejection of conventional morality. Through the mediation of the writer Aldo Palazzeschi, one of the key employees of the magazine, soon “Lacerba” begins cooperating with Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and turns into a Florentine futuristic publication. This creative union will be beneficial for both Marinetti’s associates and Lacerba’s employees. The writers grouped around Marinetti, thanks to the support of the already famous Florentines, will finally be perceived by the literary elite as a full-fledged literary association, and not as a group of impostors. The Florentine writers, in their turn, will be inspired by the new rebellious ideas that exploded all the literary canons. The most significant result of Lacerba’s work will be the “Cleansing Calendar”, which will embody many aspects of the futuristic concept, but in a relaxed based on the existing tradition version. One of the literary finds of the Florentine futurists is the comic “Malthusian poetry” contained in the calendar, which revived the once popular ingarrician verse. Nevertheless, shortly there will be a split in the magazine, which will largely reveal the authoritarian character of the Italian literary futurism, that was called “marinettism” by the Lacerba staff.
