Lactatdehydrogenase in benign and malignant tumors of the kidney

The activity of blood and urine lactatdehydrogenase (TDH) in 101 patients with benign and malignant tumors of the kidney was studied. A significant increase in the activity of urine TDH was found in patients with kidney neoplasm as compared to healthy controls (OR= 14, p=0,98, α=0,02). The increase in the urine TDH activity was observed more frequently in patients with malignant tumors than in patients with benign tumors of the kidney (p=0,93, α=0,07).
