The lexical gaps as the phenomenon of intercultural communication in the culture of linguistic identity

The paper discusses the questions of cross-language lexical gaps in the linguistic identity culture in the course of the impact made by the first language on mastering the second language at different levels of the language system. The gap occurs when one or another concept is absent in one language, but exists in the other. The existence of lexical gaps is determined by the specifics of the local cultures. The author offers a brief overview of some parameters that can be interpreted as positive (plus parameters) or negative (minus parameters) during the learning of a second language.
