The article presents the results of a laser method for removing a protective polyimide coating from quartz capillaries in comparison with a thermal method using a gas burner. It has been shown that the use of pulsed ultraviolet laser radiation allows the removal of the protective polyimide coating without the need for additional mechanical processing of the capillaries, heating, the risk of deformation and defectation of the capillaries. Laser technology for removing polyimide coating from quartz capillary allows for high reproducibility of the technological process and is promising for commercial production of capillary arrays.
