This article discusses about the legal issues in the Khiva khanate in the period of Russian conquest. During this period, there were three main types of land ownership in the Khiva khanate: property - private land ownership; kingdom or estate - state lands; waqf lands, i.e. lands belonging to priests and religious institutions were also reported to cover legal issues as well.
