In article history of functioning of a lexeme the person involved in Russian is considered from the moment of his emergence and up to now. On the basis of the analysis of these explanatory dictionaries of Russian and dictionaries of foreign words the conclusion about those transformations which have happened to this lexical unit during her existence in language is drawn.
